At Arrosta Coffee Roasting Co, we keep our training courses to groups of no more than five. This this to ensure the facilitator is able to tailor the delivery to the individuals of the group and to ensure everyone gets a fair amount of hands on time to practise each element being taught.
The barista training workshops are typically a three-hour workshop (depending on how many questions there are) and are run to simulate a commercial café environment. During this time you will cover a brief history and background of coffee and the coffee roasting process - its important to have a background of where coffee comes from and how it is prepared before the brewing starts!
You will then spend time learning about the coffee grinding, dosing, tamping and shot extraction with plenty of hands-on practice. The second part of the course covers texturing the milk for different drinks and how to consistently achieve great milk every time. You will also have plenty of hands-on practice texturing and pouring milk drinks.
Upon completion of the workshop you will receive a certificate of completion, a complimentary 250g bag of Arrosta House Blend beans, a document with all the tips and tricks from the workshop and a voucher for a free coffee so you can come in during trading hours, ask questions and watch our baristas apply the skills you learnt in the workshop. This workshop provides you with great basics to improve upon and progress as you gain experience, working in a commercial café environment or, if you are wanting to make exceptional coffee at home.
