Our Roaster: The Loring S35 Kestrel
We also believe in doing things properly – with care, innovation, and sustainability at the core. That’s why we roast on the Loring S35 Kestrel – one of the select few in New Zealand. A precision-engineered machine designed to deliver exceptional quality in every batch while dramatically reducing our environmental footprint.
The S35 Kestrel roasts using a single burner system that simultaneously incinerates smoke, eliminating the need for an afterburner. This dramatically cuts gas usage and emissions, aligning perfectly with our mission to do business that’s better for people and the planet. With up to 80% fewer emissions compared to traditional drum roasters, it’s a clean, efficient, and forward-thinking way to roast.
Roasting on the Kestrel means we can dial in exact flavour profiles for each of our coffees – whether single origins or blends – and repeat those profiles flawlessly thanks to Loring’s advanced software. The result? Every bag of Arrosta coffee is consistent, beautifully balanced, and roasted to showcase the best of its origin.
